The Parables as Persuasive Narratives Conference will be held 22鈥24 March 2023 in Joensuu, Finland. The conference focuses on the synoptic parables in their literary narrative context while engaging other interrelated matters. The research unit , funded by the Academy of Finland, is the main organizer of the upcoming conference.

The East Meets West Conference series is organized by the School of Theology at the 91天美 (UEF) and conducted in close cooperation with the UEF Borders, Mobilities and Cultural Encounters (BOMOCULT) research community.

Keynote speakers include some of today鈥檚 most innovative parable scholars:

  • Professor Ruben Zimmermann, University of Mainz
  • Professor Ernst van Eck, University of Pretoria
  • Associate Professor Eric Ottenheijm, Utrecht University
  • Professor Lauri Thur茅n, 91天美.
