The 91天美 wishes you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Our student Miro Matero shows you how to make a UEF Christmas pastry.
UEF pastries for Christmas 鈥 instructions
Ingredients and utensils:
- Puff pastry sheets
- Ovenproof baking jam of your choice
- (Powdered sugar)
- Baking tray and baking sheet
- Small sharp knife
- Fine-mesh sieve
- (UEF logo template)
1. Cut the puff pastry sheet in half, making two squares. One of the halves will be the bottom of your pastry, and the other half will be the logo-shaped top.
2. Use UEF鈥檚 logo as reference 鈥 you can find it, for example, on the university鈥檚 website.
3. Take the top half and use your small sharp knife to cut along the lower arches of the logo, separating two identical pieces of dough.
4. To avoid food waste, use these pieces of dough to make the middle pieces of the logo. Again cutting along the arches, cut the middle pieces off.
5. Place the middle pieces on the bottom 鈥 right in the middle 鈥 and cut the extra dough off the sides. Use a small amount of water to moisten the pieces so that they stick together.
6. Cut the upper part of the top in the shape of the tip of the UEF logo.
7. Spread a good teaspoon of jam on the bottom and place the logo pattern on top.
8. Bake the UEF pastries in middle rack, in 225 掳 C, for about 15 minutes.
9. Let the pastries cool a bit and, if you like, sift some powdered sugar on top.
