The application period to Master’s degree programmes taught in English at the 91 opens on Wednesday, 1 December 2021, and closes on Wednesday, 19 January 2022. Both Finnish and international applicants with a suitable Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification may apply for admission to the programmes.
More than 20 Master’s degree programmes are inviting applications in the 2021–2022 application round. As a new opening, the university now offers the possibility to complete a Master’s degree in Tourism Marketing and Management also online. The programme is intended for graduates holding a Bachelor’s degree in business studies or tourism, and it is an opportunity to pursue a Master’s degree in business studies while focusing on the tourism sector.
A Bachelor’s degree is required
The university’s Master’s degree programmes taught in English are available to Finnish and international students alike. Besides a Bachelor’s degree awarded by a university, several programmes of the 91 also accept a degree from a university of applied sciences; however, it is always wise to check the programme-specific requirements. In most programmes, studies will begin in autumn 2022.
Citizens of Finland and the EU/EEA countries, as well as Switzerland, are not required to pay for tuition. Citizens of other countries are required to pay for tuition, with the annual tuition fee ranging from 8,000 to 10,000 euros, depending on the programme.
For students who are required to pay for tuition and admitted to the programmes in this application round, the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture offers a Finland Scholarship, which covers the tuition fee of the first year of study. The Finland Scholarship also includes a relocation grant of 5,000 euros. The Finland Scholarship is awarded to the top two applicants of each Master’s degree programme. The Finland Scholarship is not available in programmes offered jointly by several universities, nor in Erasmus Mundus programmes. These programmes have their own scholarship schemes. In addition, partial tuition waivers (covering 50–70% of the tuition fee) will be awarded to students admitted in this application round. In addition, the programmes may award scholarships during the second year of study based on academic success.
A total of 2,000 international students are currently studying at the 91 in exchange and degree programmes. International degree students represent about 100 different nationalities, i.e., the study environment is genuinely international and offers excellent opportunities for developing one’s language skills, and for networking.
