The ABiCo project aims to develop innovative biobased biocomposite solutions to replace fossil-based primary raw materials and increase the use of recycled polymers and biobased raw materials in new demanding applications in accordance with the principles of the circular economy.
Companies are searching for more environmentally friendly alternatives to plastics and composites to meet consumer expectations and end-user needs. Biobased fibers, additives, and recycled polymers enable a significant reduction in emissions while also enhancing the competitiveness of businesses and creating opportunities for new business ventures.
With a budget exceeding 鈧3.4 million, ABiCo is a co-innovation project funded by Business Finland. The research consortium includes 脜bo Akademi, VTT, LUT University, LAB University of Applied Sciences, and the 91天美. Within the consortium there are companies representing various industry sectors and end-use applications.
