Invitation to participate in the Cospin project鈥檚 final seminar on the Effects of Subsidized Collaboration on Spatial Innovation Capacity on 23th September at 09:30 - 12.00 via Teams.

COSPIN invites you to participate in the project鈥檚 final seminar to discuss the effects of subsidized collaboration on spatial innovation capacity. This Business Finland funded project conducted by VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland and 91天美 explored the spatial patterns of innovation and knowledge spillovers, linkages of collaboration between different innovation actors and the scaling of solutions and impacts of innovative public procurement. The event is meant for experts in the fields of innovation, R&D funding, regional development and innovative public procurement. The event will be organized in a participatory way: the project team will present their latest findings and wants to discuss the rationale behind the results and the derived policy recommendations. The event aims to increased dissemination of the understanding of the impacts of subsidized RDI funding and the scaling of the solutions and impacts of public procurement of innovation.

This project 鈥淓ffects of subsidized collaboration on spatial innovation capacity (COSPIN)鈥 explores the spatial patterns of innovation and knowledge spillovers and linkages of collaboration between different innovation actors in four work packages: WP 1 investigates the impacts of subsidized RDI activity on regional knowledge spillovers and innovation capacity; WP 2 traces impacts of informal spatial knowledge linkages on companies鈥 innovation activity; and WP 3 investigates the impacts of subsidized collaboration on demand-side innovation, regional knowledge spillovers and societal challenges. In addition, the project plays (in WP4) special attention to dissemination and outreach activities to ensure the usability and utilization of the project results by a wide group of stakeholders: The project is designed to produce new knowledge for policy makers who are responsible for developing policies related to RDI subsidies, regional development and innovation capacity, innovation policy and demand side innovation activity. These are all timely topics in the Programme of Prime Minister Sanna Marin鈥檚 Government but also topics that reach to understand past and future transformation of innovation policy, and that are thus, grounded on highly scientific premises. UEF is responsible for WP1. The project is funded by Business Finland.
