Have you ever wondered how to find your way after graduation in Finland? From Campus to Career is an event that brings you information about the strengths and skills that humanities graduates can offer in working life. You get to hear enlightening career stories and tips on how to stand out in your job search. The event is tailored to UEF humanities students, but anyone interested in job search is welcome. The event is organized by the UEF School of Humanities.

There is both Finnish and English content in the event. Please, see the programme for the language of each session. Photographs will be taken during the event. Check out the programme below and register by 10 March 2025. A coffee coupon for the first 35 people who sign up (you can pick it up from the organisers' info stand on the day of the event). Event location: Agora, Joensuu campus. Welcome!

  • 10.00–11.30 AG100 LinkedIn workshop. Language: Finnish and English.
    • LinkedIn is one of the central places where job seeking and professional networking take place. In the LinkedIn workshop, you can create your own profile or update it with the help of a career counsellor. You get to practice how to use the platform even better as a tool for job seeking. Bring your own laptop to the workshop. 
       
  • 10.00–11.00 AG104 TalentHub Eastern Finland: Competence recognition session - skills, strengths and capitals in postindustrial working life. Language: English.
    • The importance of competence recognition is often emphasized during transition to working life, especially as the postmodern working life is continuously and rapidly changing. New demands for skills and competences in working life are emerging regularly. What kinds of competences are valuable for human scientists during their career transitions? Visit our competence recognition session, join the discussion and find out!

  • 12.30–14.00 AG106 CUDIS Workshop: Explore Joensuu. Language: English.
    • Are you new to Joensuu? Want to get ideas on what to do in your free time? This immersive workshop explores various useful and fascinating sites and attractions around Joensuu. It will also provide information and tips about voluntary work and working life connections in the area. We will work in small groups and compile an easy-to-use Google map for students to share, for instance on social media. Strengthen your local knowledge and digital skills and discover new, fascinating sites of Joensuu. Bring your own computer.

    • Are your job search documents in need of that final touch? Want to hone your job search? Come fine-tune your job application or CV with experts from the trade union of your field. You can also ask other work life related questions. Make an appointment for personal guidance (AG104) or stop by our walk-in clinic (AG103). The guidance is provided by Language Experts, MAL ry and TAKU ry.
