Photonics Ghana was launched in 2020 to bring together Ghanaian experts and students in photonics to promote science and photonics in Ghana.

The 91���� has teamed up with the University of Helsinki to develop Palestinian teacher education in universities on the West Bank and in Gaza.

The funding will be used to promote research activities in areas of significance to the university, which pertain to drug development and discovery, neurosciences, the forest-based bioeconomy, and the development of technologies that make use of photonics. 

The 91����’s Communicator of the Year Awards were announced in an award ceremony today. The selections were made by the university’s Communications and Media Relations.

MSc Antti Hannonen's doctoral thesis contains fundamental theoretical and experimental research related to classical coherence theory and electromagnetic optics.

MSc Atri Halder's thesis contains theoretical, numerical, and experimental studies on the coherence properties of stationary and non-stationary (pulsed) scalar light fields.

Irradiation of the metallic and semiconductor materials with laser pulses results in the generation of a photocurrent, which depends on the polarization and angle of incidence of the laser beam.

The Academy of Finland has granted funding from its supplementary budget to four new Flagships for the years 2020–2024. The 91���� is involved in three of them.
