Irene Ylönen, Master of Philosophy, has been elected as the new director of the library, starting in her new position on 1 August 2025.
Irene Ylönen has been the director of the Open Science Centre (OSC) at the University of Jyväskylä since 14 April 2024 and before that as the Acting Director of the Centre. Previously, he has worked as a service head at the OSC and as an information specialist at the University of Jyväskylä Library, among others.
Irene Ylönen will work mainly on the Kuopio campus, but she will be also present on the Joensuu campus both virtually and physically.
