A total of 11 professors from the university’s four faculties will give their inaugural lecture.
The 91’s newly appointed professors will give their traditional inaugural lectures on the Joensuu Campus on 20 May and on the Kuopio Campus on 21 May 2025. On the Joensuu Campus, lectures will be held in the Metria Building, room M100 (Yliopistokatu 7), and on the Kuopio Campus in the Canthia Building, room CA101 (Yliopistonrinne 3). The events are open to all.
This year, a total of 11 professors from the university’s four faculties will give a lecture, providing a popular overview of the key themes of their discipline and own research.
The lecture topics include, e.g., culturally and linguistically diversifying education, Swedish, neurology, commercial law, biomass production and bioenergy, marketing and digital transformation, social work, clinical radiology, pathology, nursing leadership and gastroenterology.
The lectures will be streamed and recorded. Links to the video streams can be found on the Joensuu event page and the Kuopio event page. Lectures are recorded, and the video recordings can later be viewed via the university's website. On the website, you can also get to know the professors and their field of expertise.
